One of the most rewarding aspects of my role as an event designer is when an event is more beautiful than I ever dreamed! I will never forget all the candles glowing while Dean Martin played in the background with the buzz of conversation and the energy of love and connection in the air. It was an unforgettable night for everyone in attendance! And that is what it is all about! I live to create beautiful, unforgettable events.
Bruce wanted to surprise his wife for her 60th birthday. He wanted her to feel very loved and celebrated. He wanted a night of fun for her and their guests. And he wanted everyone to feel like they were in Italy.
The Venue at Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina was the perfect backdrop for the night. When the venue owner said the space had never been more beautiful, I was so thrilled.
Knowing how important pictures are to Cindy, we hired Chris Isham, a fine art film photographer, to capture the night. Cindy will treasure his beautiful images!
Tessa Pinner designed a beautiful cake with perfectly matched colors and decadent flavors.
Katelyn Pinner Studios did an amazing job with the flowers.
Adding flowers to the basket on the vintage bike elevated the wow factor.
And the greenery up the walls and from the chandeliers contributed to the Italian vibe in such a lovely way.
I will search high and low for the perfect rentals to bring the vision to life. For this party, that meant using four different rental companies. Professional Party Rentals had the Amalfi plates, which were the perfect vessels to transport us to Italy and they matched the color scheme I dreamed up. They also had the glassware, silverware, and accent lounge chairs. CE Rental had such beautiful linen tablecloths and hemstitch napkins. I smiled when I realized they were named “Tuscany.” Industry Event Rentals had the chairs I was searching for to complete the look. And Greenhouse Picker Sisters provided the rug and pillows to finish off the lounge.
I wanted the favors to be a piece of Italy. One of the things I think of in Italy are all the beautifully decorated ceramic tiles. But, would guests really want to have a single ceramic tile? Instead, I thought a consumable gift was best. And this is where Oak City Cookies really blew me away. Using the Amalfi plate as our inspiration, Whitney decorated a square sugar cookie that looked like a ceramic Italian tile. I loved the final result and they tasted great, too.
Laced in Letters did the beautiful calligraphy. Her work is so lovely and added such an elevated touch to the event!
Table 301 had all the Italian food we wanted, including making pasta in a Parmesan cheese wheel!
And because you can never have too much cheese, we imported a wheel of Grana Padano from Italy for guests to enjoy throughout the night. I placed it on a beautiful column table from Professional Party Rentals in the center of the room and entryway. It was another great wow factor when guests first came into the space.
PPE Event Group had the party dancing and Liquid Catering took great care of everyone.
A successful and highly curated event takes a team of vendors to come to life. So grateful for this awesome team. And for a generous host in Bruce to make it all possible!
Warmly,

My 60th birthday party was truly one of the most wonderful and magical celebrations of my life! My husband blessed me with an Italian themed surprise party, under the incredibly talented and creative direction of Elisa Sisterhen. After being completely and utterly surprised by family and friends on the Liberty Bridge in Greenville, SC….we strolled through Falls Park and walked into what felt like an “Italian dream”. From the cafe lights to the vintage mint green bicycle with a basket overflowing with a floral delight! Entering the venue was beyond anything I could have ever imagined… A true Italian “Festa di Compleanno”! The tables were so elegantly decorated with the most beautiful flower arrangements, Italian China that was matched with Italian tile cookies as a favor. The rustic but elegant atmosphere was right out of Europe……walls cascading with greenery, and hints of Italy every where you looked! At the center of the room was a giant Grana cheese wheel that drew everyone’s attention and appetite. And of course an Italian dinner that included pasta being tossed in a cheese wheel….as well as Italian wines that were perfectly paired with the evenings appetizers and food!
Every large and small detail of this party was inspired, planned and executed by Elisa Sisterhen. Her attention to detail is incredible! I cannot say enough about all the love and heart that she puts into her work! She is so pleasant, polished and professional in working with her clients as well as all of her contacts. Elisa is incredibly gifted and talented at her craft and I would highly recommend her for any type of event planning, celebrations, parties, etc.,etc.,etc.! Molte grazie, Elisa
